The event

As the signature event of the EVECE Foundation, the Walk for Life 5K is more than just a race — it is a movement of remembrance, resilience, and hope. This powerful community gathering brings together individuals and families of all ages to honor the lives of those we’ve lost to mental health challenges and to uplift those who are still fighting. It is a day to walk, run, and stand united in support of mental health awareness, prevention, education, and youth development.

At the heart of the Walk for Life is our mission: to create a society that values and supports the mental well-being of all individuals. Driven by this purpose, we are committed to transforming the mental health landscape — delivering essential education, resources, and compassionate support to adolescents and adults navigating a world that too often separates them from opportunities for true mental healing.

The Walk for Life 5K is a celebration of that vision — and we invite you to be part of it. Whether you walk in remembrance, in solidarity, or in hope for a brighter future, together we can move toward a more supportive and mentally healthy society.

the legacy

The empowered purpose of our Walk for Life is to remember, celebrate, and share the lives of Christopher Redding Edwards II and Erin Victoria Edwards—who they were, all they loved, the contributions they made to the world, and the beautiful gifts they left behind. But we will not stop there. We will honor all lives lost to depression, substance abuse, suicide, gun violence, and other leading causes of death among youth in our country today.

EVECE (pronounced eh-va-see) is the acronym of their initials. Founded in 2020 in their memory, The EVECE Foundation, Inc. is a mission-driven organization committed to transforming grief into purpose. Our vision is clear: to create a society that prioritizes mental well-being, eliminate the stigma, and empower to live vibrant, meaningful lives.

Join us in this vital cause. Walk. Run. Remember. Empower.
